World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated every year in the first seven days of the August month i.e. 1st Aug - 7th Aug. This full week focuses to highlight the amount of benefits that breastfeeding can bring to the health and welfare of babies, as well as a wider push for maternal health, aiming on good nutrition, poverty reduction and food security.
World Breastfeeding Week is promoted and organized globally by the WHO (World Health Organization), WABA (World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action) and UNICEF (United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund).
The slogan decided for this year's World Breastfeeding Week 2018 is "Breastfeeding: Foundation of Life". Breastfeeding is the prime step of lifelong good health for babies and mothers in a world filled with inequality, crises and poverty.
Breastfeeding is a natural process in which a mother feeds her baby. It is a natural method by the help of which a baby receives nourishment. Breastfeeding can be started immediately after the birth and feeding starts soon as the baby shows interest. It is highly advisable to the infants as it is very necessary for their proper growth.
Mother's milk is used to provide many of the important nutrients to make the child well nourished and to develop good health for their better future. Mother's milk is also helpful in providing them every safety from all sorts of diseases like Pneumonia, Cholera, Neonatal Jaundice and many more.
World Breastfeeding Week is primarily celebrated to support many of the families with a lot of people and workers to get trained, consultants of the lactations and the partners.
The government has come up with various beneficial ideas and plans to spread the message to a large number of mother's in the world in a very less period of time.
There are many trained counselor who are having great knowledge about breastfeeding and they are recommended to spread the information regarding breastfeeding to many of the mother's situated worldwide.
To make the baby sharper, intelligent and stronger enough to tackle and handle all the activities in a proper way, every mother has to develop their mind to focus on providing their milk to the child.
For making the mother and the baby to live a healthier life many of the organizations has suggested to every mother that they should give their child their own milk for starting 6 Months after they get born and also they can give their milk to their child for 2 or more years.
For the better of all, government should ensure some steps and promote knowledge about the benefits of breastfeeding and its necessity for a child.
