World Heart Day is celebrated on 29th of September annually to spread awareness about the health of heart among common people all through the world. This day was founded in the year 2000 to encourage people about taking care of their heart.
A huge amount of common people in the world is suffering from the heart diseases such as stroke, heart attack, heart failure, etc. Heart problems are known to be the leading causes of death in the world.
In an estimation of World Heart Federation, more than 80% of the premature deaths (because of cardiovascular diseases) can be protected by controlling 4 main risk factors like unhealthy diet, tobacco use, lack of physical activity and use of alcohol.
Formerly, world heart day was celebrated every year on the last Sunday of September month from the year it was established till 2010. It is an effective event started in 2000 and organized every year by the World Heart Federation. The day was started celebrating annually on 29th of September (means no longer on last Sunday of the month) from the year 2011.
World Heart Federation and its members actively involves in the celebration in order to spread the news about premature deaths from heart diseases and its risk factors to the common public.
World heart day is celebrated all over the world to lower the number of deaths occurring because of cardiovascular diseases globally. This day is an international campaign to spread awareness among common public to save them and motivate to live with healthy heart.
World Heart Day is an effective way started by the world heart federation to aware people around the globe that heart problems are the leading cause of death. World Heart Federation, by mixing with the WHO, spreads all the vital news about heart problems and main risk factors to the public worldwide.
On this day, people realize about overeating, unhealthy diets, lack of exercises, bad life style, etc causing heart ailments. It encourages the public out there that heart problems can be prevented and controlled for whole life by following healthy life style.
The prime aim of world heart day is to improve global heart health by encouraging people for lifestyle changes and gain knowledge about ways to be good to the heart. There is a target set by World Health Organization to reduce the non-communicable disease mortality rate by 2025 by lowering the premature deaths because of cardiovascular disease.
As shown by some of the statistics, an approximate of about 17.3 million people were died because of cardiovascular disease in 2005. World Heart Federation is a hope to prevent and control heart ailments through proper awareness campaigns and actions in such serious situation.
