Dr. Prashant Saxena is an experienced Ophthalmic Surgeon from Delhi, holding broad technical skills in micro surgery and essential therapeutic and diagnostic skills that address diseases concerning the eye and visual system.
Dr. Prashant Saxena is MBBS, MS (Ophthalmology) trained physician from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (Aligarh) with a coveted Fellowship qualification from Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS).
Dr. Prashant Saxena completed his residency program from Batra Hospital and Medical Research Centre (Delhi) and MM Eyetech Centre (Delhi) post which he commenced clinical practice that spanned across various reputed hospitals such as Sujan Mohinder Hospital (Delhi), Centre for Sight- Sunflag Hospital (Faridabad), New Tech Eye Hospital (Ghaziabad) and Max Medcentre Panchsheel (New Delhi).
Presently, Dr. Prashant Saxena is the Medical Director of Kunj Eye Hospital (New Delhi) and a Consultant Surgeon and Ophthalmologist at Kunj Eye Centre (New Delhi) and a clinic located at SMC, 7BRD, Vayusenabad (New Delhi).
Ever since the inception of surgical training in Ophthalmology, Dr. Prashant Saxena has keenly observed, assisted and independently operated numerous types of surgical cases under the surgical microscope.
In 1999, Dr. Prashant Saxena acquired hands on observership experience for a total period of 5 months in two different hospitals in United Kingdom- Wrexham Maelor Hospital, Wales and Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion, Scotland.
Dr. Prashant Saxena has procured and honed his knowledge pertaining to surgical techniques by assisting and observing fine skills of ophthalmic surgical experts such Prof. Madan Mohan, Dr. Noshir Shroff, Dr. Mahipal Sachdeva, Dr. R K Bhandari, Dr. Nita Guha and Dr. Rishi Mohan.
Dr. Prashant Saxena figures among a select group of doctors in Delhi to initiate Small incision Cataract Surgery (SICS) in 2000 and till date he continues to do so.
Dr. Prashant Saxena has performed more than 1500 surgeries in hospitals and camps in states like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and New Delhi and a volume of over 1500 cases of ICCE and ECCE surgeries as per current records.
Dr. Prashant Saxena stays medically updated with regular participation in national and regional conferences.
Amongst other extraocular and anterior segment surgeries, Dr. Prashant Saxena pursues special interest in performing innumerable Pterygium Excisions (with Conjunctival Autografts) and Glaucoma Filtering Surgery.
His recent interest is gravitated towards kerato- refractive surgery (LASIK and Phakic IOLs) and Glaucoma management.
